  1. Just South of Heaven by Crime & the City Solution: Crime & the City Solution's hauntingly atmospheric mini-LP, "Just South of Heaven," is back in a limited edition reissue on mesmerizing blue vinyl on 7th June. Originally unveiled in 1985, this mini-LP showcased the talents of the "London lineup," featuring Simon Bonney, along with former Birthday Party members Mick Harvey and Rowland S. Howard, alongside Rowland's bassist brother Harry Howard, and drummer Epic Soundtracks (formerly of Swell Maps and Jacobites). Recorded at Hansa Tonstudios, Berlin, and The Strongroom, London, with sound engineer Flood (known for his work with a-ha, Depeche Mode, and Erasure), the album marked a refined evolution from their self-produced EP. Speaking to Uncut, Harry Howard described the album's progression: "The first EP, 'The Dangling Man,' was a bit raw. For 'Just South Of Heaven,' we tried to create a more elegant record, and it worked quite well." Website Link- 'thesoundofvinyl'

  5. Stung! by Pond: Pond stands out as one of the most versatile, exploratory, and accomplished bands within the realm of psychedelic rock. Their last four albums have exemplified precision and conciseness, with 10 ideas neatly packed into roughly 40 minutes. However, with Stung!, they boldly embrace the expansive format of a double LP, drawing inspiration from the spirit of albums like Tusk and Sign ‘O’ the Times. Stung! showcases some of Pond’s most glorious rock compositions to date, alongside moments that veer away from rock entirely, delving into psychedelic textures or funky vitality. Throughout this epic journey, Stung! encapsulates frontman Allbrook's reflection on our modern paradox—simultaneously disillusioned with a world we understand better than any previous generation, yet awestruck by its wonders and the connections we share. With countless reasons to shed tears and just as many reasons to marvel, Pond suggests through Stung! that perhaps all these emotions are equally valid reasons to sing. Website Link- 'recordstore'
